Second round of PVs for summer 2015! I left out a few that I saw Promo Vids for because I’m reading the manga for those ones and thus I know the synopsis. So if you want to see the PVs for Monster Musume, Okusama ga Seitokaicho!, or Prison School follow those links. Other than that I’m really just going off cover art and the shows that actually have PVs. With that said let’s jump into the next batch of PVs.
Before I even start I had to look up what that name meant in English. Apparently it means “A Boring World Where the Concept of Dirty Jokes Doesn’t Exist”, so you know it’s going to have a deep and meaningful plot. Oh my god, I’ve never laughed so hard at a PV. This was odd starting off with a warning siren then, then quickly jumping into sexual innuendo mode. If this doesn’t turn out to be an ecchi anime (perverse show that’s not quite porn), I’ll eat one of the figures on my desk. I especially liked the crazy student council president girl running around with a panty mask. Not sure what roll the guys going to play, but my guess is “reluctant sidekick”. Even the background cast looks interestingly strange. This is (hopefully) going to be a gold mine of ridiculously depraved hilarity. If you haven’t guessed yet, I’m a fan of ecchi.
After reading the synopsis:
I was a little wrong on this one, but still very excited. The student council president is not “panty mask” girl. Panty mask is Ayame Kajou, who blackmails the lead (Tanukichi Okuma) into joining the Anti-Societal Organization (SOX). This club is against the “Law for Public Order and Morals in Healthy Child-Raising” which outlaws foul language throughout the country. This club’s mission is to commit “obscene acts of terrorism” (AniChart description) against the student council president (Anna). This is unfortunate for the protagonist as he has a crush on the very student body president he is blackmailed to torment. My interest is piqued however I’m assuming this is a show you don’t watch with the family so to speak.
Rokka no Yuusha
This one MyAnimeList calls “Rokka: Braves of the Six Flowers” in English. I feel that might be mistranslated, but what do I know? Anyway this one starts off with a red headed guy who I’m going to guess is our hero for the show. The animation throughout looks very well done, though the CG dragon thing did somewhat throw me off. Still I’ve seen anime pull off CG flawlessly, so I’ll give this one a shot… only one though. The other thing that struck me about this PV is that it is most assuredly a fantasy anime. I’ve liked fantasy anime since “Record of Lodoss War”, and the last one we got to enjoy was “Yona of the Dawn” but that was a season ago. The name along with the final shot in the PV tells me we’re in for more than a few character introduction episodes, so hopefully this show is a two core (26 episodes over 2 seasons). That little bit definitely has me wanting more, so let’s see what it actually is about.
After reading the synopsis:
The synopsis for “Rokka no Yuusha”says that a being named “Majin” (apparently not Buu) awakens from the depths of darkness. After this fate chooses six heroes to save the world, and gives them a blessing of some sort. Adoretto (needs a nickname) a boy who is one of the six heroes goes to meet up with his fellow heroes at a meet up point. Doesn’t say how they all know to meet up, but I’m sure we’ll find out. In any case, at the meeting spot there are seven instead of six. This leads to the others somehow suspecting Adoretto as the enemy among them, in my opinion because he has red hair and thus lacks a soul. To be honest if I had to guess who the bad guy is right now, I’m going for either the shady looking guy on the left end, or (long shot) the crazy eyed little girl in the yellow. Fantasy with a hint of mystery, this is one to look out for next season!
For the record I’m just calling this one Gate, much shorter and easier to write. After watching this video I’m somewhat confused, but definitely curious about the show. It seems to be a mix of military and fantasy which is new. The monsters don’t look terribly intimidating, especially the pig faced one. That guy looked like he came from an 80’s action cartoon from here in the states. To venture a guess, I’m going to say the three girls in the clip are the ones fighting the evil forces in question. The non-helmeted soldier guy is probably going to be their military liaison/focus of some kind of love square (because anime). Not expecting too much from this one thus far, hopefully synopsis sheds some light on the story.
After reading the synopsis:
The first line of Gate’s synopsis according to AniChart calls it a military fantasy, so I hit the bulls eye there. The story begins with a “gate” opening in the Ginza district of Tokyo from which comes monsters, knights, and other fantasy creatures. These creatures proceed to massacre the citizens in an event known as “The Ginza Incident”. The government sends in the SDF (Self-Defence Force) through the gate and into the other world. These soldiers are led by Outbreak Company anyone?). The SDF finds a village through the gate that is under attack by a dragon. They rescue the elf girl in the video and head out to explore the rest of this strange new land. Hopefully they put a guard on the gate lest more monsters stroll through. I enjoyed Outbreak Company, and this seems like that show with a dash of seriousness. I’m in so long as there’s a troupe scene (beach, hot spring, etc), and no I am not sick of those types of episodes., who is apparently an otaku (
I’ll probably do one more of these next week since I only looked on AniChart for PVs, and I’m sure show like Gakkou Gurashi and Charlotte have promo vids somewhere. If I had to give a pick for which one I’m most excited for it has to be “Shimoneta to Iu Gainen ga Sonzai Shinai Taikutsu na Sekai” for sure. Who doesn’t want a wacky comedy featuring a depraved girl with panites for a mask. It’s simply too good to pass up. Look forward to a new series on Friday, and as always follow me like the sheep that you are on social media. Till next time…
Arigatō my fellow BrOtaku!
