On march 31st Digital Manga started up a KickStarter Campaign for the classic 80’s anime Kimagure Orange Road. This old school romantic comedy had 18 volumes in its day, and the mangaka (Izumi Matsumoto) was hoping that love for the series would allow him to create omnibus editions for it. The goal was set for $34,900 for the 1st volume of the omnibus. Well I’m happy to announce that with 20 days left in funding, this project is already funded! What’s even more exciting is that it is currently closing in on its first stretch goal of $56,900!

When high school student, Kyōsuke Kasuga, moves to a new school, he is suddenly mixed up into a complicated love triangle between a mercurial and enigmatic girl with a troubled past, named Madoka Ayukawa, and Hikaru Hiyama—Madoka’s ditzy and energetic best friend. While Kyōsuke’s true feelings are for Madoka, his indecisive and sensitive personality keeps him from hurting Hikaru at the same time. To throw things more into the mix, Kyōsuke and his family hold a secret— they are espers (aka—people with psychic powers). Can Kyōsuke juggle the growing pains of high school life all the while keeping his family’s extra sensory powers a secret?
A love triangle, psychic powers, and high school life. What’s not to love? With 20 days left there is still plenty of time for you to jump on this fantastic opportunity to bring a classic manga back to life. Let’s give Kyōsuke, Madoka, and Hikaru the 21st century reboot the deserve! Follow the link below to fund the…
