News: Sentai Releases Anime Films on Steam!

Sentai Filmworks has recently released an exciting announcements for anime fans everywhere. 12 films from their library will be released for streaming on Steam, the popular digital content service. This took effect today, and the movies are available for $3.39 a movie right now! This is fantastic news for legitimate streaming fans looking for a way to watch their favorite movies without paying for a full physical copy! The 12 anime films in question are:

  • Short Peace
  • Ninja Scroll
  • Grave of the Fireflies
  • Children Who Chase Lost Voices
  • Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works
  • The Garden of Words
  • K-On! The Movie
  • Hakuoki – Theatrical Version Chapter 1: Wild Dance of Kyoto
  • Hakuoki – Theatrical Version Chapter 2: Warrior Spirit of the Blue Sky
  • Loups=Garous, Mardock Scramble: The First Compression
  • Mardock Scramble: The Second Combustion
  • Mardock Scramble: The Third Exhaust

This announcement follows a recent surge in video content from Steam, which was originally video game platform. “Sentai Filmworks constantly works to ensure its content is available to fans via the best and newest platforms out there,” said Luke Patterson, Business Development Manager for Sentai Filmworks. “We are ecstatic to announce our partnership with Steam, one of the global leaders in digital content delivery, and now an exciting new partner in the streaming anime market.” Only time will tell if this precludes a surge of anime to Steam, but for now anime fans everywhere can take heart in the fact that there is yet another venue with which to enjoy anime.
